OUR APPROACH TO GOD
Prelude
Introit "Majesty" J. Hayford

Welcome & Call to Worship: Psalm 29
Ascribe to the Lord glory and strength!
WORSHIP THE LORD IN HOLY SPLENDOR!
The voice of the Lord is over the waters.
THE GOD OF GLORY THUNDERS, THE LORD, OVER THE MIGHTY WATERS!
The voice of the Lord causes the oaks to whirl,
And strips the forest bare;
AND IN HIS TEMPLE ALL SAY, "GLORY!"

Let us be before our God in silence.

Unison Prayer: by Psalm 123
TO YOU I LIFT UP MY EYES, O YOU WHO ARE ENTHRONED IN THE HEAVENS! HAVE MERCY ON US, O LORD, HAVE MERCY ON US. FOR WE HAVE HAD MORE THAN ENOUGH OF CONTEMPT. AS THE EYES OF SERVANTS LOOK TO THE HAND OF THEIR MASTER, SO OUR EYES LOOK TO YOU, THE LORD OUR GOD.

All Saints Sunday
Celebration of Communion

OUR APPROACH TO GOD

Prelude
Introit "Cast Thy Burden Upon the Lord"

Welcome

Call to Worship: Rev. 7:2-14, adapted
I, John, saw another angel come up from the East, holding the seal of the living God. I had a vision of a great multitude, which no one could count, from every nation, race, people and tongue. They stood before the throne and before the Lamb, wearing white robes and holding palm branches in their hands. They cried out:
SALVATION COMES FROM OUR GOD, WHO IS SEATED ON THE THRONE, AND FROM THE LAMB!
All the angels stood around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They prostrated themselves before the throne, worshiped God and exclaimed:
AMEN! BLESSING AND GLORY, WISDOM AND THANKSGIVING, HONOR, POWER, AND MIGHT BE TO OUR GOD FOREVER AND EVER, AMEN!
Then one of the elders asked: "Who are these wearing white robes and where did they come from?"
THESE ARE THE ONES WHO HAVE SURVIVED THE TIME OF GREAT DISTRESS; THEY HAVE WASHED THEIR ROBES AND MADE THEM WHITE IN THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB!

*Hymn: "O When the Saints" (Traditional Spiritual) (4 verses)
1. Oh, when the saints go marching in,
Oh, when the saints go marching in,
Oh, Lord I want to be in that number,
When the saints go marching in.
2. Oh, when that light begins to shine,
Oh, when that light begins to shine,
Oh, Lord I want to be in that number,
When that light begins to shine.
3. Oh, when the sun refuse to shine,
Oh, when the sun refuse to shine,
Oh, Lord I want to be in that number,
When the sun refuse to shine,
4. Oh, when the saints go marching in,
Oh, when the saints go marching in,
Oh, Lord I want to be in that number,
When the saints go marching in.

Let us be before our God in silence.

Unison Prayer: Psalm 8
WHEN I LOOK AT YOUR HEAVENS, THE WORK OF YOUR FINGERS, THE MOON AND THE STARS THAT YOU HAVE ESTABLISHED; WHAT ARE WE HUMANS THAT YOU ARE MINDFUL OF US? WHO ARE WE MORTALS THAT YOU CARE FOR US? YET YOU HAVE MADE US LITTLE LOWER THAN DIVINE BEINGS AND CROWNED US WITH GLORY AND HONOR. YOU HAVE GIVEN US DOMINION OVER THE WORKS OF YOUR HANDS...O LORD, OUR SOVEREIGN, HOW MAJESTIC IS YOUR NAME IN ALL THE EARTH!

Kyrie (sung)
LORD, HAVE MERCY ON US.
CHRIST, HAVE MERCY ON US.
LORD, HAVE MERCY ON US.
