Mirral Church holds final service at New Utrecht Church

The Mirral Church, one of only three Swedenborgian churches in New York City, held its final service Sunday at the New Utrecht Reformed Church with a joint Korean-English communion service with the New Utrecht Church. The Rev. Young Min Kim, the pastor for thirteen years, delivered the sermon in both English and Korean, preaching on Luke 24:13-35. Elder Susan Hanyen, Vice President of Consistory at the New Utrecht Church, gave a tearful farewell message. It was a sad day for both the Mirral Church and the New Utrecht Church. After a group photo of both congregations, a lunch featuring both Korean and Italian food and desserts followed. The Mirral Church will now hold worship services at their new home in Manhattan.

New Utrecht Reformed Church

Seeking to share Christ's Love!

New Utrecht Church Welcomes You!

New Utrecht welcomes you to join us in worship every Sunday morning at 11 AM. We meet to praise God, study and share the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and pray together, giving thanks to God for His presence and saving grace in our lives and raising to God the needs of our community, both local and global. We are an ecumenical worshipping community, Protestant and Catholic, with a warm and respectful welcome to our Muslim and Jewish neighbors, friends and family members.

Eucharist and Bible Study

The first Sunday of every month (October-June) and on Holy/Maundy Thursday, Easter Sunday and Pentecost we gather to break bread as we celebrate the sacrament of the Eucharist. To deepen our relationship with Jesus we meet monthly to pray and study on Saturdays. Consult the website: www.newutrechtchurch.org.

Serving the Poor!

We also invite you to join us as a volunteer at our Tuesday and Thursday English as a Second Language (help with childcare or tutoring) and our sometimes Saturday community meal (next meal: April 19th at noon) serving our neighbors in need.

Celebrating the Arts!

Art at New Utrecht offers monthly free concerts to the Bensonhurst community. Check out the newutrechtchurch.org website for dates!

Preserving the Past! The Work of Historic Preservation!

New Utrecht Church has a 330 year history that spans both Dutch and English control of the town of New Utrecht, as well as New Utrecht's role in the Revolutionary War's Battle of Long Island and New Utrecht's participation in the Civil War. If you are interested in the history of the Town of New Utrecht, join in the activities of our "Friends of Historic New Utrecht" accessible through our historicnewutrecht.org website.
