The Veneration of the Cross

OUR APPROACH TO GOD
Prelude

Welcome! Call to Worship: Psalm 19:1-6
The heavens are telling the glory of God;
AND THE FIRMAMENT PROCLAIMS HIS HANDIWORK.
Day to Day pours forth speech
AND NIGHT TO NIGHT DECLARES KNOWLEDGE.
There is no speech, nor are there words;
THEIR VOICE IS NOT HEARD;
Yet their voice goes out through all the earth,
AND THE WORDS TO THE END OF THE WORLD.
In the heavens God has set a tent for the sun,
WHICH COMES OUT LIKE A BRIDEGROOM FROM HIS WEDDING CANOPY,
And with strength runs its course with joy.
ITS RISING IS FROM THE END OF THE HEAVENS
And its circuit to the end of them;
AND NOTHING IS HIDDEN FROM ITS HEAT!

This is the first commandment:
HEAR O ISRAEL,
THE LORD OUR GOD,
THE LORD IS ONE!
THEREFORE YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD
WITH ALL YOUR HEART,
WITH ALL YOUR SOUL,
WITH ALL YOUR MIND,
AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH.
This is the second commandment.
YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.
There is no greater commandment than these.
